Living in the South of France

A chance to experience life as we do: slowly, beautifully and with a real sense of pleasure.

You arrive not as hotel guests, but as people we have been looking forward to welcoming. We pour you something chilled, then settle into our usual rhythm: Saturday markets for food and vintage finds, lunch by the river, a siesta beside the saltwater pool, and dinner under the stars with a glass of local wine.

You can stay in our house or arrange accommodation nearby. Only the place you sleep changes; we share the rest of the experience.

The FRANCE INSIDE philosophy

This is the South of France as we know it. Here, they call it art de vivre.*

The winemakers, antiques dealers and places in each itinerary are part of our own life here. The produce and recipes are what we choose for our table. That is what we want to share with you.

* art de vivre: the French art of living, and the pleasure found in everyday life.

The real South of France is not somewhere you simply see. It is something you live.

Our house

The house is part of the journey

Two guest rooms, an old stone house, terraces, a garden and a salt-water pool. Here the house is not a backdrop but part of the journey: the place we return to after the day's drives, cook dinner and carry on with conversation.

You can stay in the house or choose a place nearby: breakfasts, dinners and conversations are shared either way.

About us

Natacha and Slava

More about us
Natacha

Natacha

An eye for beauty, antiques and atmosphere

An art historian with more than twenty years of experience in decoration and antiques, Natacha searches the brocantes every Saturday. She shows you where to look, how to recognise the age and character of an object, and which one of forty brooches is truly worth taking home. While Slava cooks, she sets the table and creates the atmosphere around it.

Slava

Slava

Good food, good wine and the art of hospitality

Slava spent fifteen years in construction before moving into restaurants, where he discovered that a house and a dinner are made in much the same way: with precision and care for details that guests may not notice, but always feel. Today, life means a mas in the South of France, a pool, the vineyards of Corbières and the guests for whom he cooks. Epicurus would have chosen friends, a garden and simple food; Bacchus would have added wine. Slava agrees with both.

A different way to travel

What to know before you book

01

Where you stay

In a genuine country house, a mas, around two hundred years old.

02

Your hosts, not tour guides

No flags or headsets. We are with you throughout the day, from breakfast to the final glass of wine.

03

Places we know personally

The winemakers, market traders and antiques dealers are people we visit and buy from ourselves.

04

Two or three experiences a day

Lunch may last three hours. Slow living is not a slogan here; it shapes the day.

05

Thoughtful details

We take account of dietary needs, personal preferences, children and pets.

06

Room to be spontaneous

We can adjust the itinerary and timing together, according to the weather, the mood and your pace.
